OOTD: Thrifty Finds / The White Skirt

I was recently asked by ThredUP if I would team up with them to show some of their amazing pieces. So naturally, I said hell yes! I immediately began to scroll through their website. It was hard and easy for separate reasons.

Easy: You can put in your sizes and it shows you your options
Hard: There was so many things to choose from.

I found myself completely torn between two outfit choices. Sure, at these prices I could have easily gotten both. HOWEVER, I am trying to keep on track with my monthly happy hour budget.

Here is the outfit I almost bought.

J. Crew gingham button down
J. Crew white shorts
paired with chunky heeled black mules from want my look (sold out) but you can shop similar from JustFab here.

I had it all added to my cart planned out! It was going to tuck in the shirt and roll up the sleeves, add a chunky belt through the loops and then slip on my bad ass mules and strut my stuff for the ‘gram.

Theeeeeeeeen, I saw this Tibi skirt.

We already know I’m a sucker for puns, clever marketing, disdainful cats, glitter, and alcohol. I am also a sucker for white clothing — especially summer cottons and linens.

#LeSigh.

So I seriously struggled with the idea of both. But opted to be good and only got the skirt. There are seriously so many possibilities for it, I couldn’t turn it down. Not to mention the little fact that its Tibi  and retails for $450 (SCORE!). I’m actually not even sure if it is used at all. It looks brands new and the tags are still attached.

I paired the light weight skirt with this champagne lace top from Elie Tahari (it’s a few years old already, but shop Threadup for similar!) to keep the look feminine and lady-like. I also had these gold-strappy nine west heels that are also a few years old that tied it all together.

I went with this look (as opposed to making it more casual) in honor of May, and the next few weekends we will spend at bridal showers, baby showers, christenings, first communions, luncheons, garden parties, jewelry/candle/tea parties … etc. Except for maybe a bridal shower (don’t wear white to those), this look can serve for any of those.

So definitely check out ThredUp! They have so many pieces that you’ll surely find something you’ll love at an amazing price.
